Hum Hallelujah

It has been about 2 weeks since I departed the Houston st awesomeness. Currently we are 3-4 days away from my return. I'll admit, my summer hasn't been as fun since I left. All I've done is:

- Look at cars (Somewhat Unsuccessful)
- Play computer games (Somewhat Successful)
- Play with myself (Very Successful)

Here is what I do at night for fun:

Thats right, forward change of support. On a positive note I should be able to help us go to ncaa's for cross. On a negative note I'm a big loser. (funny thing about this pic is im intoxicated and I sent it to coach for a few laughs and he said "Good start billy, no more drills in the dark!"

Haha, ok so no I actually have been doing stuff like Busch Gardens, test driving Camaros, going to Richmond bars, and hooking up with girls (2).

So I said I was test driving Camaros...well I lost a bid on ebay by 50 dollars for this one:

I have acquired an older car just to have something to drive. Its an 89 civic, I don't have any pics of it since its still in Williamsburg and won't be in my possession untill after I get back from camp. Looks like this:

I am quite tempted to toss a few grand into it and mod it out...but then I would start looking like this:

Oh well, let me know what you guys think. I miss you all and will see you before you know it.

XOXO
Dozer

NYC Photo Blog

Because I have been too busy (and maybe a little lazy) to write about all the cool stuff we did in New York, I am going to share some of the pictures with you all because its a lot easier than writing.

Driving:
Here is the three of just after we left Blacksburg on Thursday night to start our adventure. I know it is not wise to flash a camera in the face of a person driving a car in the middle of the night, but at least James' eyes are on the road and not the camera.

This is where we were headed:

This is us the next morning after leaving Z-dogs house . You can see that we picked up the lovely Ms. Kate Scheiner and traded in Dirty Girdy for the Golden Chariot because Girdy needed an oil change and some new shoes . (an oil change and new shoes....sounds like something Shreck would be good at providing)
Oh yeah!

Just before we accidentally take the Lincoln Tunnel into Manhattan:
The Night Out:

It all started with James fixing Christine's toilet, but keep reading because it gets better from here, a lot better.

Two transvestites singing a David Bowie song:Kinda hard to see, but this is a guy dancing on the bar in his underwear (I told you it got better)

Another transvestite singing David Bowie songs:

Now there was a lot more to the night than just fixing toilets, guys dancing on the bar and transvestites, but thats all the pictures we have. I'm sure some of the stories will be told another time.

The Next Day:

It began too early and with too little sleep preceding it, but it started with speed boat races on the Hudson:
Later in the afternoon we took the ferry into Manhattan:

While we were in the Toys'R'Us in Times square (James made us go, but it was pretty cool cause there were lots of Legos and a ferris wheel inside the store) we ran into none other than Shreck:

He even pinched James' butt while James was looking at some little Shrecks. Not only did Shreck perform this lewd act in public, he did it in front of approximately 72 girls scouts. He really is a monster ogre

Here we are at the Hershey's store. I was trying to be funny and pretend I was eating the giant chocolate bar then James had to go and copy me and make the picture way less funny. Before James copied me, people would have thought "Oh man, Rider is gonna eat that whole thing!" Now they think, "Wait a minute James doesn't even like chocolate, this whole thing is staged!" I Blame James (good band)
Janine Love Jenna. great billboard. If you look closely near the bottom you can see that one of the actors in the movie is Walt Jizzney.

James' reaction when he saw the billboard. (yeah, we went right from the Hershey's store to the M&Ms store)

If you look closely you can see James in the bottom right of this photo. He is across the street talking to a chick that was trying to sell him tickets.

Dunc appreciating a finely crafted cathedral door:
The NY skyline from the ferry terminal next to Papa Scheiner's house:

The Corvette:

Cigars:

Badasses:
Again:

The Scheiners. They all look a lot alike.

Father's Day Breakfast:

Well, thats about it. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Update from NYC

So we are finally in New York City, after about 6 or so hours in the car today. You may say to yourself...wait, isnt it only 4 or so hours from Nova to NYC? Well yes, it is. The plan was to drive to Jame's dad's house in NJ then head to dt NYC tonight. When we were approximately 8 minutes from pappa Scheiners house James missed the exit and accidently took us into a one way tunnel heading to downtown Manhattan.......

Oops.

Then neither James nor Kate knew exactly how to get back, so we had a lovely time aimlessly driving around trying not to get side-swiped by New York drivers at rush hour. Saw a few jags, a few transient crack whores, and spent a record 28 min moving from one stop light to another. By the grace of God we found our way to James dad's place on the Hudson (literally, his condo is built on a pier on the water). We went for a nice little jog along the water which offers an amazing view of the city, and we are about to grill out and pregame for NYC tonight. (not trying to spent 200 bucks downtown) David Bowie themed party tonight...wish us luck.

Hope everyone is having as much fun as we are, although I know Mcvey isnt.

Its Friday

I know this is my second post today, but I have more stuff to say. I guess I'm getting addicted to blogging. Maybe my blog will get really popular and I can drop out of school and become a full time blogger. Although, if I was a full time blogger, blogging probably wouldn't be much fun anymore because it would be my job and jobs aren't supposed to be fun.

The reason I am writing this second post of the day is because I have two exciting things to share: A) I finally got the programs I was writing to work and B) its Friday.

If you recall the post I wrote about last Friday in which I wrote (blogged) about myself being frustrated by some programming, well, I got it to work. It took me a week to do, but that's partly because I had to brush up on my LabView skillz before I really got started and I spent approximately half of the week blogging and doing other non-work related things while at work. I'm very proud of my work, so I am going to share some of it with you:
Isn't that pretty! Unfortunately that was just the beginning part of the whole programming project I'm working on and it is going to get much more difficult from here. Now on to the next reason I'm excited.

Like the title and reason B) says, its Friday. You may be saying to yourself, "its not Friday, its Thursday. That Rider kid is completely wrong and probably on crack." And technically you would be correct (except for the crack part). Sure its not actually Friday, but for me its Friday because I am not coming into work tomorrow. I asked my Professor (aka Boss) if I could take off tomorrow so I can got to New York(!) with James and he said sure (I think he said yes because he was so impressed with my programming). As you know (or at least, for your fathers sake, i hope you know) that fathers day is this weekend and James' father, John, happens to live in New York City. John asked James to come up and visit for fathers day, but Z-dog said that James could not drive alone. Duncan and I volunteered to be his C0-pilot and C0-Co-pilot (although, it is still unclear whom is going to assume each title, I'm pretty sure I've got the former locked down). Now, there are two reasons I jumped at this opportunity: A) I've never been to New York and B) it will give me stuff to blog about.

The current plan is to leave tonight after Duncan gets off work and drive up to James' house in NoVa and spend the night there. On Friday morning we will drive the rest of the way up to NYC. There are some tentative plans involving James' Sister(!) taking us to a "Glam Rock" party on Friday night and many, many other fun things.

McVey's summer just got owned.

I guess I should get back to work for a few more hours....

Man Down!

Billy left Blacksburg this morning to go home to Richmond. By doing so he has not only forfeited the poop contest and his blogging privileges, he has also brought into question whether or not his summer is actually going to be more fun than McVey's.

All I have to say is: Real smart Billy, way to think it through.

Lots of Love,

Rider

P.S. Billy - Have fun watching the season premier of Entourage...by yourself

Hard Monday Nights

Currently it is 1:03am and I'm alittle buzzed. Why do you ask? Well that is because around nine pm we (Billy, Shreck, and James) decided to go to Kroger and Shreck got wine. While im talkin about kroger let me just say this. We bike there and its awesome.

Before I forget and I know I will so Im mentioning it now. I have a retarted bird that lives outside my window and trys very hard to confuse me. I think it is the same bird that vomited a gallon of what I hope was water because I got splashed. Its kind of odd that a bird the size of a bird could vomit a gallon of water being that the gallon is probably close to 4 times its body weight but im not animal doctor so i dont know what they are capable of. This bird is also very retarted because it does not know the difference between night and day. Or maybe it does and consciously decides to be "different". I mean honestly what bird chirps at night when all the other birds are sleeping. If its the mating call i almost feel sorry the little bag of feathers because every other bird in the world is asleep and will not respond to the sex calls. I wonder if they get as pissed off about it as we (humans) do. think about it. Anyways moral of the story, we live by a stupid bird.

So back to biking to Kroger. Oh before that happend the girl upstairs (new bestfriend) ran into one of the corn-hole thingys. No damage done what so ever. She felt so bad she bought us two cases of beer. Hence why we love her so dearly and have a slight buzz. So Shreck, Dar, and my self finish the 3 liters of wine that he bought at Kroger earlier. Upon completion rider mentions drunk ball and everyone else is in but me. I stand my ground using big words like, Monday and responsibility, maybe even imaturity, but being who I am I immediatly crack under the peer presure. Truth be told I only wanted one glass of wine but we all know that didnt happen. So then drunk ball happens and it puts Billy and I vs. Shreck and Dar. Shirtless duo vs. gayess duo (shreck and dar= gayess duo if you were wondering). we crush then like its our job. Come to think of it, it might be the closest thing to a job Ive had all summer and probably will have all summer. This is just a typical night in the life of Blacksburg summer nights for the Boys.

Shreck's First Bloggggggg

heyyyyyy dudes (and possibly chicks if they are worthy of reading our intimate thoughts and feelings),

The Blacksburg life has definitely been much more fun than whatever McVey is doing. I spend my typical day discussing poop, not doing work, watching scrubs, and putting off running until 8pm or later. Several trips to the driving range and a few hours of cornhole are also a welcomed distraction from my busy schedule. For some strange reason Duncan has trusted me with the sports editor job at the Collegiate Times, so I guess I do that too. (and of course RunAbout)

My most exciting news to date would have be the addition of a 1984 Porsche 944 to the Houston Street parking lot. Apparently the Montgomery family has grown fond of their daughters fine fine young boyfriend (me) and have trusted that strapping lad with their old vehicle. James, Rider, and Billy believe the borrowed car to be a modern-day dowry. I'll let you all decide.

I just returned with the porsche today after my first two days of MANUAL shifting in Richmond. Needless to say, my nerves were on edge and shirt was very sweaty when I finally got to Blacksburg. I didn't stall once from Richmond to Blacksburg... BUT as soon as James and Billy sat down in the car, I stalled out in the parking lot.... pathetic.

I think that's all for now. I hope everyone is causing trouble and discussing poop in their different summer endeavors.

XOXO,
Shreck..... aka Ian (That kid is a dick)

P.S. We need a name for the Porsche

P.P.S. Dave's wedding MUST be marked off in all of your calendars no matter what else you have going on in your life. (He better invite us all)
